What this content refresh checker checks and how to act on it
The content refresh checker looks at a page for the signals that suggest it needs updating: dated figures and years in the text, references to tools or prices that have changed, a lastmod or dateModified older than the topic warrants, and structural gaps such as a missing direct answer or FAQ. It is a triage tool; the decision to refresh should be driven by Search Console data.
Refresh pages whose position or click-through rate has slipped, or whose impressions are high and clicks low, before pages that were fine. Calendar-based refresh cycles waste effort. Platforms with a weekly performance loop, such as SerionFlow's flywheel for the pages it manages, flag these candidates automatically; for the rest of a site this checker plus a Search Console export does the same by hand.
