What this GEO audit checks and how to act on it
A GEO audit checks five layers in order: whether AI crawlers can fetch the page, whether its content exists in the static HTML, whether it is structured so an engine can lift an answer, whether structured data and freshness signals are accurate, and whether citations are being measured for a fixed prompt set. This tool runs the automatable checks on a URL; the answer-structure layer is a manual read of the page.
Most sites fail at the first two layers, which makes everything after them irrelevant until fixed. Audit ten priority pages rather than the whole site, fix access and rendering site-wide first, then rewrite priority pages to answer first with a table, an honest negative, and an FAQ, and establish a monthly prompt re-run. Re-audit quarterly and after any hosting, CDN, or rendering change.
