What this query fan-out explorer checks and how to act on it
The query fan-out explorer approximates how an AI search system expands one prompt into related sub-queries: reformulations, implicit questions, comparisons, and follow-ups. Google has described fan-out as central to AI Mode and AI Overviews, and ChatGPT and Perplexity use comparable multi-query retrieval. A page is retrieved per sub-query, so a page that answers several of them well is cited for prompts it never targeted.
Use the output to plan sections: one primary question per page, four to eight related sub-questions as H2 sections that each open with a direct statement, and an FAQ for the follow-up phrasings. Keep the sub-questions tightly related; fan-out rewards depth on one intent, and unrelated topics on a page dilute every section.
