What this H1 checker checks and how to act on it
An H1 checker fetches a page and reports whether it has exactly one H1, what it says, and how it aligns with the title tag and the primary query. Missing, duplicate, or generic H1s are common on template-driven and programmatic sites, and Google uses the H1 alongside the title tag and inbound anchor text when it decides what title to display.
For answer-first pages the H1 should be the question or the exact query, with the title tag a close variant; a mismatch between the two is one of the reasons Google rewrites titles. Check H1s in bulk with a crawl after any template change, and keep the H1 in the static HTML rather than rendering it client-side.
